Yamato Hongo (本郷ヤマト Hongo Yamato) is a main character and a male protagonist in Akiba's Beat. He is a 16 year-old High School student who puts on a cool air and states he does not have any interest in the Akihabara culture, except that it is shown he does. He often refers to the culture as "dorky" and lazes around without a care. He is also interested on how the events will turn out, saying that he will choose the end.
He carries the title, "The Dandelion on the Cusp of Manhood" (思春末期のダンデライオン).
