Kanata Saotome (早乙女カナタ Saotome Kanata) is a major character and serves as a maid character in Akiba's Beat. Kanata is a 16 year old boy who works at the Violet Eden bar in the Akihabara side streets. Kanata portrays a cute and effeminate impression whilst using masculine pronouns in speech. In truth, being a boy dressed in maid clothing, he is cross-dressing but in fact does it for a job at a 'queen bar,' as described early on by Yamato Hongo.
He is popular among regular customers, but constantly lacks confidence and gets nervous.
