Aoi Hoozuki (鬼灯 アオイ Hoozuki Aoi) is a character in Akiba's Beat. She is the twin sister of Akari Hozuki and member of the Akihabara Freedom Fighters created by Mizuki Aihara. She is the one who takes Asahi Tachibana to their hideout for the first time after their meeting in Chapter 6, which is actually a Delusionscape that the Freedom Fighters had already cleared. At the end of the game, she along with Boss and Akari disappear from the world as they were part of Mizuki's delusion.
Etymology[]
- The name Aoi is written in katakana (アオイ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (葵 or 碧), it could possibly mean:
- 葵 - "hollyhock, althea".
- 碧 - "green, blue".
- Aoi's surname Hoozuki means "demon, ogre, daemon" (鬼) (ho) and "light, lamp" (灯) (zuki).
