Akari Hoozuki (鬼灯 アカリ Hoozuki Akari) is a character in Akiba's Beat. She is the twin sister of Aoi Hozuki and member of the Akihabara Freedom Fighters created by Mizuki Aihara. She is first encountered early in the game and is not hesitant on giving nicknames to the other characters. At the end of the game, she along with Boss and Aoi disappear from the world as they were part of Mizuki's delusion.
Etymology[]
- The name Akari is written in katakana (アカリ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (明里, 朱里 or 朱莉), it could possibly mean:
- 明里 - "bright, light, clear" (明) (aka) and "village" (里) (ri).
- 朱里 - "vermilion red" (朱) (aka) and "village" (里) (ri).
- 朱莉 - "vermilion red" (朱) (aka) and "white jasmine" (莉) (ri).
- Akari's surname Hoozuki means "demon, ogre, daemon" (鬼) (ho) and "light, lamp" (灯) (zuki).
